Thanks to support from so many, Rain of Hope was able to double our impact in its second year and serve more than two times the number of youth than the previous year. The ripples created by Rain of Hope youth were HUGE. In year two, students involved in Rain of Hope programs:
Collected 17,000 books for homeless families through a collaboration with New Haven Public Schools;
Wrote and preformed 6 new songs sharing positive messages for their communities;
Connected with 25 senior citizens who were provided a meaningful one-on-one relationship with 2nd graders.
Were taught by Southern Connecticut State University pre-service teaching students, providing SCSU students with unmatched classroom experience.
Testimonials and our expansion to new schools demonstrates that Rain of Hope programs are well-received by students, parents, teachers and school administrators. Our impact in the Greater New Haven area was tremendous in our first two years, and can be even bigger in year three!
