Community Outreach Coordinator:

Responsible for cultivating strategic partnerships through community outreach activities. This position develops sponsorship/business arrangements and relationships with businesses, individuals, schools and other organizations interested in supporting Rain of Hope’s general operations and program areas. This position interfaces regularly with the leadership of the Board of Directors.
Time commitment: 20 hours per week, year-round position

The role of Rain of Hope's Youth Program Instructor is to teach youth to work collaboratively to build stronger communities.  Through academically enriched programs, the Youth Program Instructor will implement program plans and schedules provided by Rain of Hope, adjusting lesson plans to meet the needs of the participants; and provide written assessment students' academic and social progress as well as program evaluation and recommendations.   

Time commitment: Part-time (15 hours weekly), year-round position

Responsible for supporting the youth programs for school age children under the direct supervision of the After School Instructor. Interns will also gain excellent experience in classroom management. Only open to Southern Connecticut State University students completing degrees in education and/or relevant areas.

 

Time commitment: 3‐10 hrs/ week (Varies based on needs of individual school), Part‐time position.

Location: Greater New Haven area, Connecticut

 

Volunteer Opportunities

Afterschool Student Mentor (4 to 6 Positions Available):
 

Time commitment: Varies, two to three-hour blocks at a time
