Did you know?

  • Rain of Hope has been empowering youth in the Greater New Haven area since 2013.

  • Our programs have over doubled in the last year, reaching over 250 New Haven Public School Students; providing programs to over 25 senior citizens, and helping over 10 Southern Connecticut State University future teachers to gain classroom experience!

  • The request for Rain of Hope programs continues to grow! More communities are requesting our help to empower their youth.  Your support will help us expand to more communities in need.

  • A recurring donation is the best way to help youth gain access to Rain of Hope programs. Just $5 a month could make a huge difference.

Friendship Matters promotes positive relationships through lessons focused on collaboration, communication/listening, openness/understanding, kindness and mindfulness.   Each lesson stresses the importance of these characteristics in peer relationships, and includes engaging activities for students to practice these skills.

Giving of any size can make a huge ripple!

Here are some meaningful amounts:

  • A $5 recurring donation provides an extra hour of programming to at-risk youth.

  • A $10 recurring donation covers the cost of supplies for one entire program.

  • A $25 recurring donation partners students with local musicians to write songs that send positive messages!

Did you know....

  • Over 75% of youth in our programs are eligible for free or reduced lunch.

  • The federal government contributes only 11% of the cost of afterschool programs.

  • Nationwide, 11.3 million kids on their own in the hours after school.

  • Studies show, participation in   after school programs help improve youth's classroom behavior, completion of homework and classroom participation.
